We offer Brand & Marketing Coaching for leaders who would appreciate an outside perspective or who would like their teams to have a disciplined, yet entrepreneurial partner who can provide ongoing counsel. We are a good fit for leaders who seek to be consumer-led, value brand, and are looking to move their business and brand forward to make a positive impact.

During this time of change and uncertainty, we can also offer an outside perspective and a sounding board as all businesses and brands navigate the turbulent waters.

One of the most rewarding ways Kathy engages with teams is as a partner. This is why we think of ourselves as an agency (vs. a consultancy), viewing ourselves as operating on your behalf, not just offering expertise. Partnering in this fashion not only allows us to serve as a catalyst to create lasting value, helping to shape knowledge, insight, and capabilities that live within your organization, it also ensures internal ownership of ideas, leading to implementation that sticks.

Kathy brings traditional brand marketing training from CPG, yet has worked in entrepreneurial environments so knows how to be agile. This blended mindset is applied on several additional planes. Kathy also bridges the art and science of marketing, while building brands with both a consumer and business mindset. She’s a master at bridging strategy into execution, so insights are not just about theory but instead focused on getting you into action.

Topics we can cover in coaching include, but are not limited to:

  • Brand strategy, including brand positioning, brand architecture, creative briefs, etc.

  • Marketing plan approaches and opportunities

We offer two ways to engage based on your investment level:

1. Live Coaching - $1,250 per month, 3 month minimum includes:

  • In-take form to understand your current business, brand, and marketing opportunities and challenges and where you are trying to move From and To

  • Three (3) 1-hour live calls per month scheduled through Calendly and held via Zoom (can be recorded)

  • Email summary of takeaways and actions discussed on each call

  • Email correspondence with questions in between sessions

2. Asynchronous Coaching - $750 per month, 3 month minimum

  • In-take form to understand your current business, brand, and marketing opportunities and challenges

  • Here’s how it works: You provide questions via voicemail leaving a 3-5 minute question. Kathy responds with a 10-15 minute response recorded via Zoom with video provided. Email summary follow-up of links or notes shared through the response, if required.

  • Three (3) per month

  • Email correspondence with questions in between Q&A responses

At the moment, Kathy has up to 10 spots available for either form of 1:1 coaching.

FOUNDER & CHIEF strategist, Executive coach

Kathy Oneto

Kathy Oneto is a brand and business strategy leader with expertise in branding, marketing, innovation, and strategic design applied to different enterprise models. Kathy is also an Executive Coach and a Career Strategist. She helps leaders and individuals find purpose and clarity to move them forward into action. Her purpose is to help others make a positive impact or change and realize their full potential.

Prior to starting The Agency Oneto, Kathy was VP, Brand Communications and Chief of Staff at Minted, an eCommerce design marketplace. Prior to that role, she led the strategy practice at a global branding and design firm, Anthem Worldwide, where she was VP, Brand Strategy working with clients in CPG, Retail, and Technology sectors. As a consultant, Kathy served as a strategic partner to her clients, often working in partnership to forward their vision and progress their organizations and brands forward. 

Kathy is a strategic brand marketer at heart, having cut her teeth at Clorox leading and managing brands such as Kingsford Charcoal, for which this vegetarian still has deep affection. Kathy further honed her experience as co-founder of a natural food start-up, championing the consumption of bugs (also known as probiotics), where she landed the first refrigerated bar in the yogurt aisle and launched nationally with Whole Foods and Safeway. Since then, Kathy has had the opportunity to partner with over a dozen brands in shaping strategy, including Safeway, Del Monte, Smuckers, and Peet’s Coffee & Tea.

In doing her work, Kathy is curiously insightful, masters complexity, and is keenly focused on delivering for her clients. She is both a thinker and builder, able to bridge strategy to execution to ensure work gets implemented. Having worked in multiple environments, she is both disciplined and entrepreneurial in her approach. She is a thoughtful partner there to be a sounding board, an interpreter and coach, and a support to you and your team to unlock the positive change you seek to make. A critical value for her is to do the right thing, integrity being true to her core.

Finally, Kathy is a thought leader in the areas of branding, marketing, innovation, trends, and marketing to women. She’s spoken at the the M2W: Marketing to Women’s conference, has written research white papers on marketing to women, has been published in Fast Company in the area of branding, and has extensive experience researching innovation approaches and presenting trends via webinars and for clients. Finally, in her last agency role, Kathy was the creator and editor of Sightings, a quarterly journal on trends. She currently curates Coordinates, our brand, strategy, and leadership blog, as well as Weathervane Forum, our trend blog, which looks at what’s taking shape on the horizon.

Kathy has an MBA from Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School. Kathy has completed coursework in Design Thinking, Writing, The Institute for the Future’s Foresight Practitioner Workshop, The Grove Consultants’ Designing and Leading Change Intensive, General Assembly’s Digital Marketing course, and Co-Active’s Coaching Fundamentals and additional coaching coursework.
